Error Simulation System for Elevator Control Devices
Project Overview
Designed and developed the custom hardware and software for a specialized fault simulation and test system to monitor and evaluate the real-time operational behavior of the company’s industrial elevator control units. Developed at Rudolph Logic Systems GmbH (Hildesheim, Germany), the solution enhanced quality assurance for electronic assemblies across safety, sensor, and industrial control domain applications.
Purpose
The primary goal of this platform was to provide Quality Assurance (QA) teams with an automated environment to inject controlled system faults and validate safety response mechanisms. Featuring a custom hardware test rig, the system enabled real-time verification of elevator light barriers, output relays, and sensor telemetry under simulated operational stress conditions.
Key Testing Capabilities
- Automated self-check and memory integrity diagnostics
- Drive protection (Fahrschutz) relay toggling
- Optocoupler signal path testing (200 Hz / 600 Hz pulse verification)
- Dual-channel frequency sweep and sensor input simulation (Sensor 01 / Sensor 02)
- Under-speed and over-speed threshold simulation (Unter- / Ćberdrehzahl with lower/upper limit boundaries)
- Motor rated RPM configuration and speed monitoring (Nenndrehzahl)
- Light curtain safety barrier fault injection (Lichtvorhang simulation with configurable delays and error codes)
- Single-device and concurrent multi-module parallel testing (Einzel- / Parallel-Test)
- Real-time RS-232 serial communication interface management (COM1 / COM2)
- Automated test log generation and printing (Logfile)
